Vets for North-East

Thirty-two Veterinary surgeons and six Livestock Research Officers (LROs) have been appointed to serve in the Northern and the Eastern provinces. They received appointment letters from Livestock Development Minister Arumugan Thondaman at a ceremony at the Livestock Production and Health Department in Gannoruwa recently. Youth have been given priority in the appointments, according to the Livestock Development Ministry sources.

The new Veterinary officials are expected to provide proper training and guidance to the dairy farmers in the province.

The new appointment process will boost the economy of the dairy farmers through the utilisation of modern technical know-how available in the sector.
