SLT Publications (Pvt) Ltd the country's only directory information publisher launched its latest addition to the rainbow pages product line, the eDirectory last week.

The CEO of Sri Lanka Telecom PLC Greg Young and the CEO of SLT Publications Malraj Balapitiya participated at the launch held at Galadari Hotel, Colombo.

"Today technology has enabled to spread information in ways never before imagined possible and the latest product to that content is the eDirectory. This will play a vital role in bringing about national productivity" said CEO SLT, Greg Young.

CEO SLT Publications Malraj Balapitiya said that telephone users in Sri Lanka have increased to 17 million. Providing the SLT printed directory to such a large number is not possible due to practical reasons. The eDirectory is the solution. It is the same directory and could be easily downloaded by computer users free of charge without any trouble, he said . General Manager Sales and Marketing of SLT Publications said that the eDirectory is published using the most advanced eBook technology. It is easy to download and most suitable to store in a PC or laptop to be viewed at home, office or car. It is scalable to fit any screen size, the web link will provide direct logging into the respective web site. The eDirectory could be received via email or CD.

SLT Publications as a subsidiary of SLT forges ahead in the directory publishing domain to encompass bigger and broader dimensions.

SLT has introduced new technologies to disseminate information to customers by introducing latest products such as the Directory Compact Disc, WAP for mobile phone users, Web Portal and call center service.

The e version of the classified directory of the Central and Uva provinces will be made available and after the launch of the 2010/2011 Western Province Directory the e version will also be made available.
