Royal Furnishers, Venora win Swarna Lanka Award
The Independent Mass Communicators Organisation organised the 2010
Swarna Lanka Awards Ceremony at the BMICH recently.
The chief guest was the Speaker Chamal Rajapaksa. The main focus of
this year's award ceremony was to foster Sri Lanka to become the
"Miracle of Asia", the vision of President Mahinda Rajapaksa.
Among the leading companies, Royal Furnishers (Pvt) Ltd., received
the Suwarna Lanka award in the furniture category.

Sunil R. Wijekoon said that Royal Furnishers was selected based on some
key elements.
He said that the company uses "A" grade Raw Materials to produce
their range of furniture. The practicality of their designs, exact
proportions and other technical specifications too were up to the mark.
The workmanship and quality of their range of locally manufactured
furniture conformed to the standards set.
Electrical and Telecommunication solutions provider, Venora
International Projects Ltd bagged a special honorary award at the Swarna
Lanka Awards 2010 held recently in Colombo. Venora won under the
Engineering Services category, in recognition of its services to Sri
Lanka's engineering sector.
Speaker Chamal Rajapaksa presented the award to Chairman/Managing
Director Venora International Projects, Sagara Gunawardana.
Positioning themselves as solutions providers for an energised world,
Venora International Projects is one of the leading electrical
engineering companies and leading power panel assemblers of the local
market and also exports to the Maldives and Seychelles.
They assemble and install power factor correction capacitor banks,
lightning protectors, intelligent lighting systems and power

entry systems, SMATV/MATV systems and synchronised clock systems.
In the field of telecommunication they undertake BTs/3G hardware
