Business Forum tomorrow
The Business Forum parallel to the 25th general conference and the
60th anniversary of the World Fellowship of Buddhists (WFB), the 16th
general conference of the World Fellowship of Buddhist Youth (WFBY),
will be held on tomorrow at Cinnamon Lakeside Hotel. The chief guest
will be Economic Development Minister Basil Rajapaksa and the key note
address themed: 'A Buddhist approach to Modern Business' will be
delivered by the Most Rev. Ajhan Brahmavamso.
The welcome address will be by the President, All Ceylon Buddhist
Congress, Jagath Sumathipala while Vice President - International
Affairs, Suren Abeyagoonasekera will explain the objective of holding
the Business Forum along with the other celebrations. Chief Executive
Officer, CIC Agri Ltd, Samantha Ranatunga will speak on the Role of
Agriculture in the Emerging Economy, Chairman, Aitken Spence Shipping
Ltd., Dr. Parakrama Dissanaike 'Sri Lanka An Emerging Shipping Hub of
Asia' President Architects Association, Surath Wickremasinghe,
Infrastructure Development in Sri Lanka and Its Global Positioning.
The session themed - The Economies of Buddhist Countries in 2020 and
Sri Lanka's Position will be addressed by an eminent economist.
Pogpun Saovaphudhasuvej of the Young Buddhist Association of Thailand
will also speak. The film 'Life of the Buddha' by Naveen Gunaratna will
be screened.
