Govt offices, schools in Colombo 1-4 closed on Nov 19

The government has decided to close all government offices and schools in Colombo 1,2,3 and 4 to mark President Mahinda Rajapaksa's swearing-in ceremony on November 19, at the Presidential Secretariat premises.

As the inauguration is an official event there will be an interruption to traffic on this day. Minister of Labour Relations and Productivity Promotion Gamini Lokuge has called upon employers of private sector establishments in these areas to grant leave with pay to their employees on November 19.
