Rains to continue

The Meteorology Department said that heavy rains accompanied by thunder would continue until early December.

A senior official of the Meteorological Department told the Sunday Observer that the delay in the onset of the South Western Monsoon could result in the rains continuing till early December.

He said that heavy rains and thunder could be experienced in most parts of the country this week.

He said that the Northern, Eastern and North Central provinces would experience heavy showers accompanied by thunder.

Floods caused by heavy rains affected Gampaha, Colombo and the Kalutara districts.
