NSB celebrates President's swearing-in
NSB lined up a series of programs from November 15 - 30 to celebrate
the taking of oaths by President Mahinda Rajapaksa for the second term.
A tree planting program took place at all NSB branches November 15 at
10.07 am.
The main program at NSB Head Office Kollupitiya was conducted with
the participation of Chairman Pradeep Kariyawasam and General
Manager/CEO H.M. Hennayake Bandara with plants distributed among the
staff as well.
On November 18, the birthday of the President, religious ceremonies
by all religions were performed at the Head Office from 08.30 am.
A special bodhipooja will be held today at Dharmakiththiyarama
temple, Polwatte at 06.00pm. Chairman Pradeep Kariyawasam will address
members of the staff tomorrow at 09.00am on " The beginning of a new
era, and your responsibilities towards it".
A special savings promotion program was introduced. In order to
qualify, customers should open a 'SMILE' account with an opening balance
of Rs. 1000/- or upgrade the minimum balance of an existing Account to
Rs. 1000/-. 07 winners will be selected at a draw in January and
rewarded with brand new cars. A SMILE account can be opened at an NSB
branch or a Post/Sub Post Office.
SMILE also has a prize structure under which a series of draws worth
millions of rupees will be conducted quarterly, half yearly and
annually.
SMILE was introduced jointly with Sri Lanka Post to inculcate the
habit of savings needed for the development of the country. |
