Neuroscience Congress in India

A great opportunity has arisen for Sri Lanka to promote Ceylon green
tea as a 'health drink' in the international markets at the fifth
Federation of Asian and Oceanian Neuroscience Societies (FAONS) Congress
to be held from November 25 - 28 in Lucknow, India. It would be held in
the presence of over 3,000 international doctors and neuroscientists
from all over the Asian and Oceanian region and other parts of the
world.
Senior Lecturer, Principal Investigator, Genetic Diagnostic and
Research Laboratory and Human Brain Tissue Repository, Chairperson,
Neuroscience Module Committee, Department of Anatomy, Faculty of Medical
Sciences, University of Sri Jayewardenepura, Dr. Ranil De Silva will be
delivering a lecture at the congress on the theme of Collateral function
of the circle of Willis and Ceylon green tea in the prevention of
stroke. Neuroscience Nobel Laureate Prof. Torsten Wiesel will be the
guest of honour.Dr. De Silva and Prof. Y.Z. Zhu of the National
University of Singapore demonstrated that Ceylon green tea displays
cerebral protective effects on cultured human-brain epithelial cells.
