Develop science standard - Prof. Vitharana

Science and Technology Minister Prof. Tissa Vitharana stressed the importance of developing the field of science in the country and added that modern equipment and trained personnel, are vital to reach world standards.

“We are now in the 21st century and must focus more attention to develop science to the maximum to face future challenges,”. Referring to his recent meetings with Sri Lankan scientists on future development projects, Prof. Vitharana told the Sunday Observer that the field of science must be developed to the highest standard.

This must commence at school level and Vidatha centres have been set up for the purpose.
