Dr. A.M.A. Azeez memorial oration
The Dr. A.M.A. Azeez memorial oration will be held
on Wednesday, November 24 at 4.30 p.m. at the Ghaffor Hall, Zahira
College, Colombo.
Dr. A.M.A. Azeez was the first Muslim Civil Servant,
one time principal of Zahira College, Colombo, Senator, founder of
the YMMA and the Ceylon Muslim Scholarship Fund.
Former Secretary, Ministry of Transport Environment
and Women's Affairs Dr. Devanesan Nesiah will deliver the oration on
"National Identity and Resettlement Issues of Muslims".
The meeting will be chaired by President, Dr. A.M.A.
Azeez Foundation S.H.M. Jameel and National President, YMMA Nadvi
Bahaudeen.
A book titled A.M.A. Azeez", a profile in Sinhala
will be released on the occasion. A website will also be launched.
The lecture is open to the public.
Hearing loss: Please help
Master P.J.E.P. Malinda Malshan (7) of Kankiniyahena,
Gammedda Midigama is suffering from hearing impediment. A pair of
hearing-aid costing Rs. 110,000 has been recommended to improve his
hearing.
His parents who find it difficult to meet the cost
due to needy circumstances request public contributions to be
