BOXING: Sri Swarnajothi National School, Kiribathkumbura, Kandy is a
girls school. But the girls in that school is so keen on a sport that
has been the domain of the boys schools in most parts of the
country-boxing. This school turned up trumps at the National Schools
Boxing Championships for juniors. Veyangoda National School were
runners-up and Ganthakawa Central College, Dehiaththakandiya came third.
The boxing contest was organised by the Amateur Boxing Association of
Sri Lanka.
