Trinity, GHS cager champions

Trinity College and Kandy Girls High School became Kandy District schools under-19 basketball boys and girls champions in the tournament conducted by the Kandy District Basketball Association.

The Chief Minister of the Central Province and the President of the Sri Lanka Basketball Association Sarath Ekanayake was the chief guest and distributed the awards.

Girls under-19 championship

Kandy Girls High School beat Pushpadana Girls College 47 - 29 in the finals. At half time Girls High School led 29 - 21. Piumi Pathiratne who scored 17 points for Kandy Girls High School was adjudged the Most Valuable Player in this segment.

Hillwood Girls College finished second runner-up.

Boys under-19 championship

Trinity College beat Colombo International School Kandy in the boys under-19 finals 41 - 31.

S. Randil 19 points for Trinity College and N. Thushanth 15 points for CIS were the main scorers. Thushara Warapitiya of Trinity College was adjudged the Most Valuable Player.

St. Anthony's College, Kandy clinched the third spot.
