Fiesta of Cup cakes

Mihilaka Madura BMICH was just like heaven last week when veteran
sugar craft expert R.L. Clement and his daughter Shanika Clement
together with their pupils held an exhibition of cup cakes titled Cup
Cake Fiesta for the first time in Sri Lanka .
Well known for innovative ideas Cup cake fiesta was a treat to see
and enjoy. There were many themes be it the sea, weddings, Disney
characters, engagement cakes as well as birthday cakes. The gifted hands
of R.L. Clement, Shanika and his pupils have spent many hours as well as
labour to turn out these beautiful creations of art.
The Chief Guest veteran author Samanmalee Padmakumara in her speech
said that the media should encourage gifted persons such as R.L. Clement
in their endeavours to teach and create self employment to many
thousands.
Asked about his future plans he said that he will bring the latest
and innovative knowledge on cake craft to Sri Lanka. Clement is the Sri
Lankan representative of the US based International Cake Exploration
Society .
He is also one of the three qualified instructors at the Wilton
School of Cake Decorating USA as well as an instructor at the Kingston
Bridge PME school of cake decorating and Confectionary Arts UK.
