Jovi children's park for Habaraduwa
by Sapumali GALAGODA
The Jovi Children's Park modelled on the lines of Disneyland USA will
be opened in December next year at Habaraduwa in the Galle district.
"Built on an acre of land the investment for the equipment is 250,000
Euros and will be funded by Pecaspan Welfare Foundation," said Chairman
Habaraduwa Pradeshiya Sabha Bandupala Abeykoon.
He said that administration as well as staff will be deployed by the
Pradeshiya Sabha.
The complex will be equipped with swimming pools, see-saws, roller
coasters and other high tech fun activities.
The foundation stone has been laid while plans are being finalised.
It is situated 200 metres off the Habaraduwa town.
The chairman said that the aim of building this park is to provide
tourists as well as locals with leisure activities which are available
at reputed theme parks.
After the dawn of peace last year due to the defeat of the LTTE there
is a marked increase in tourism. Providing the best entertainment and
leisure activities is a must to attract high spending tourists.
