More Sri Lankan companies should be listed on the Colombo Stock
Exchange (CSE) as there is no other short cut for the development of
capital markets, said Governor Central Bank of Sri Lanka Ajith Nivard
Cabraal addressing a seminar organised by Thomson Reuters.
He said that within the next 6-8 months almost all finance companies
will be listed while one or two big family owned conglomerates, as well
as the banks which are not listed will be listed on the CSE.
Cabraal said that market capitalisation will double within the next
two to three years due to the listings as well as the regulations which
will make the CSE a vibrant and safe market.
