SL businesses vibrant, energetic, innovative - Peter Hayes

"The Sri Lankan business community is vibrant, energetic, and
innovative," said Peter Hayes, High Commissioner of the United Kingdom
in Sri Lanka addressing the National Business Excellence Awards 2010
organised by National Chamber of Commerce of Sri Lanka (NCCSL) at Hilton
Hotel.
It is these qualities that will take forward the country and its
people into the 21st century, to a new era of peace and prosperity, he
said. Commercial Bank of Ceylon PLC was the gold award winner at the
awards ceremony with Mobitel (Pvt) Ltd and Orange Electric securing the
silver and bronze medals respectively.
The NCCSL conducts the National Business Excellence Awards
competition annually to recognise and reward contributions made by
business enterprises to the economic progress of the country and to
recognise the enterprises that have created capacity for economic
growth, to recognise enterprises that have built sustainable market
competitiveness, to recognise enterprises that have institutionalised
best practices and business excellence and to recognise the
entrepreneurs who have demonstrated their capacity to invest.
