Bhadraji Mahinda Jayatilleke’s latest Buddhist novel ‘Visala’ will be
launched at Dayawansa Jayakody Bookshop, Ven. S. Mahinda Mawatha,
Colombo 10 on December 7 at 10 am.
“Visala” is a Dayawansa Jayakody publication.
Dangara Tharappuva

Sunanda Mahendra’s latest Sinhala novel. Dangara Tharappuva will be
launched at Dayawansa Jayakody Bookshop, Ven. S. Mahinda Mawatha,
Colombo 10 on December 14 at 10 a.m.
Sunanda Mahendra is the author of several other novels including
Devdath Mavata Menavi, Shilpa Sathveni Davasa Dakvami, Unu Alu Palla
Niruvath Devivaru and Niralambanaya.

Wildlife of Udawalawe at Lens’ Range
A 52-page book with 27 colour plates of animals from Udawalawe
National Park, written by Chanith Wijeratne (eight years old) will be
launched at the National Library Services and Documentation Board
auditorium on December 10 at 3 p.m.
The book was recently launched in Melbourne, Australia by the
Victorian Deputy Premier, Rob Hulls.
Chanith Wijeratne became a passionate wildlife enthusiast at a very
early age. He began wildlife photography at the age of six years.
Chanith lives in Melbourne, Australia with his parents and his
five-year-old sister.
Wijeratne family visited the Udawalawe National Park in December
2009. Chanith compiled the book at the end of the trip in Melbourne.
Chanith is the only son of Dr. Tissa Wijeratne (Senior Lecturer in
Medicine, University of Melbourne, Senior Neurologist and Director,
Stroke Unit, Western Hospital, Melbourne) and Dr. Mrs. Dilani Wijeratne
(Consultant Psychiatrist).

author satirises England’s nobility.

Saman Kaluarachchi’s latest book Avasan Deshanaya was launched
recently. It is the authentic Sinhala translation of Prof. Randy
Pausch’s The Last Lecture.
