Top honours for Ceylinco Insurance

Ceylinco Insurance bagged top honours when it emerged winner in the insurance sector at the National Business Excellence Awards 2010 conducted by the National Chamber of Commerce of Sri Lanka.

The winning corporates are chosen for their significant contribution towards the socio economic development of Sri Lanka through adoption of efficient methodologies and proper business ethics; winners are also expected to be those who have displayed a high degree of sustainable market competitiveness parallel to advocating best practices.

Ceylinco Insurance recorded a premium income of Rs. 16.6 billion in 2009 retaining its market leadership for the sixth consecutive year.

It has recorded outstanding results at the end of the 3rd quarter of 2010, achieving a premium income of Rs. 12.9 billion and remained the market leader for the seventh consecutive year.

Its General Insurance premium up to the 3rd quarter of 2010 exceeded Rs. 6.9 billion whilst its flagship brand Ceylinco VIP remained the No one brand in Motor Insurance.

The company's Asst.

General Manager-Marketing Senaka Rajapakse said "Behind these achievements are the unwavering confidence placed in us by our customers, our shareholders whose trust we value and our staff who went that extra mile to ensure the company maintained highest standards in customer care and add value to every aspect of the level of service we deliver.

To us, customer satisfaction is of utmost importance. Sound management principles also helped the company achieve this level of success.

Winning the National Business Excellence Award twice over during the last three years confirms our consistency in business excellence" Ceylinco Insurance-General pioneered the now widely used VIP On-the-Spot service which gave the customer the freedom and flexibility needed in choosing motor insurance. Given its tremendous popularity, On-the-Spot was later extended to all insurance services offered by the Company and today it's recognised as a benchmark service in the insurance industry.

VIP On-the-Spot has also been hailed by the regional and the global insurance industry.

During 2010, Ceylinco Insurance - General introduced many 'industry firsts'.

It became the first insurance company to offer claim settlement directly to an ATM card within a few minutes of an accident. Another unique and unparalleled product that gives never-before-offered incentives to customers is the recently introduced benefit - 'Deal with the Guilt'.

This new benefit turns a generally not-so-pleasant encounter of a motor accident between a customer of Ceylinco Insurance General and anyone else, into a positive interaction.

The individual whose vehicle is involved in the motor accident with a customer of ours, gets an air ticket to a destination of his or her choice.

This air ticket becomes valid when that person renews his/her insurance cover with Ceylinco Insurance.

In addition to this, the Ceylinco VIP customer who was also involved in the accident, gets an air ticket to a destination of his/her choice or will have the option of obtaining a replacement vehicle.
