Sri Lankan team returns with pleasant Nepal memories

Prime Minister of Nepal Madhav Kumar Nepal inaugurated the 13th
International Student Quality Circle Convention at St Xavier's School,
Jawalakhel, Kathmandu from 1st to 3rd November 2010.
Sri Lankan Ambassador to Nepal Hewage along with Pakistan Ambassador
took part at the ceremony.
"Thinking Beyond Borders - Creating Global Values" was the theme of
the convention which was organized by the QUEST Nepal, under the aegis
of the World Council for Total Quality & Excellence in Eduction. (WCTQEE).
Over 700 delegates from 64 schools representing Bangladesh, India,
Pakistan, Mauritius, Nepal, Sri Lanka and England took part.
From Sri Lanka 25 students from Sirimavo Bandaranaike Vidyalaya and
Nalanda College participated. The convention included Quality Circle
case study presentations, quiz competition, collage & slogan, debate,
story forming on quality and cultural show. The novelty of the
convention was the student's panel discussion on the main theme,
"Thinking Beyond Borders - Creating Global Values", where a Sri Lankan
student delegate participated and contributed during the discussion. The
Sri Lankan team was led by Director General of WCTOEE, Ranjith
Goonatilake who delivered a special address on "Quality Assurance in the
Educational Sector".
The Sri Lankan delegates left the convention with unforgettable happy
memories and experience which they will share with others back home.
They have returned home with a wealth of knowledge and experience,
meeting people from far and wide, with the challenge posed to them, "How
to make every child a gift to mankind and a pride to the human race". |
