Christmas celebrations with carols were held at Prime Minister D.M. Jayaratne’s official residence ‘Visumpaya’ last week. Premier Jayaratne is seen here in conversation with some of the carol singers at the event.

A workshop on parliamentary practice and procedures was conducted for those elected to the youth parliament recently. At the conclusion of the workshop, a fireworks display symbolic of multi-ethnic cultural affinity was held at the National Youth Council, Maharagama. Here a presentation by the aadiwasis. The Ambassador for the Netherlands in Sri Lanka Leoni Cuelenaere was the winner of the Women’s Over 45 years event of the Hilton Colombo Residence and Mobitel Fun Run 2010 held recently.
