NCCSL seminar - Bi-lateral Trade with Japan
The National Chamber of Commerce of Sri Lanka (NCCSL) has organised a
seminar titled 'Bilateral Trade with Japan' in association with JETRO,
the trade arm of the Japanese Embassy on January 12 from 3.00 to 4.30 pm
at the NCCSL Auditorium, D.R. Wijewardene Mawatha, Colombo 10.
The objective is to promote and strengthen bilateral trade relations,
targeting an increased trade volume between Japan and Sri Lanka. Trade
Representative JETRO Masahide Sakishige will be the key Speaker. He will
be accompanied by Third Secretary, Economic and Commercial Affairs
Japanese Embassy Kazunari Suzuki.
Sakishige will brief the participants on Trade rules and regulations
in Japan, Products and services that are in demand, Export and import
opportunities, Duty/tariff issues, Free trade agreements, Joint
venture/investment opportunities.
Seminar - Communications Solutions
The seminar "Communications Solutions for Organisational Success"
will be held on February 3, from 1.00 pm - 6.00 pm at the Ceylon Chamber
of Commerce Auditorium.
As Sri Lanka faces the challenges of post-war development, there is a
growing need for individuals and organisations to sharpen their skills
in the area of Communications.
The seminar will be in two segments. The first segment will feature
three presentations with discussions: "Towards a New Culture of
Organisational Communication in Sri Lanka" by Dean, Faculty of
Humanities and Social Sciences and Senior Lecturer in Communication
Studies, Open University of Sri Lanka, Dr Mahim Mendis; "Power of Public
Relations" by Communications Specialist Manique Mendis and "Maximising
the potential of Social Media" by Foreign Correspondent and Media
Trainer, Amantha Perera.
The panel discussion will be chaired by Head of Corporate Affairs,
Standard Chartered Bank Rezani Aziz. The panellists will be Chairman,
Smart Media, Q and E Advertising and Affno Dr Vijith Kannangara,
Chartered Marketer and Management Consultant Deepal Sooriyaarachchi, UN
Global Compact Focal Point - Sri Lanka and 'Executive in Residence'
INSEAD Business School Ravi Fernando and Chairman and Chief Executive
Officer, Bates Strategic Alliance PR, Exclusive Affiliate of
Burson-Marsteller Nimal Gunewardena.
