Jayasekera - DG, President's Media

Bandula Jayasekera assumed duties as Director General, President's Office Media unit last week.

Prior to his new assignment, he held the post of Director General (Public Communication) at the Ministry of External Affairs.

A product of Trinity College, Kandy, Jayasekera had previously served as Sri Lanka's Consul General in Toronto, Canada and Sri Lanka's Deputy Permanent Representative to the United Nations.

Jayasekera also served as Editor-in-Chief of the Daily News from 2005 to mid-2007 and led a vociferous campaign against terrorism and initiated a media campaign to support the Security Forces in the battle against terrorism.
