SEC sets World Cup record

The State Engineering Corporation (SEC) has set a ground-breaking record in completing the refurbishment of the Kettarama and Pallekele International cricket grounds prior to the Cricket World Cup 2011, a media release from the corporation said.

In keeping with the Mahinda Chintana future vision and on the guidance of Minister of Construction and Engineering Services Wimal Weerawansa, the two projects could be successfully completed in time.

The International Cricket Council has also commended the achievement, SEC sources said.
