Maris Stella’s Dilshan takes outstation lead

OBSERVER-MOBITEL AWARDS: Former Royal College captain and the Sri Lanaka Schools Under-19 skipper, Bhanuka Rajapakse, polled 1,874 votes to secure third place ousting Thomian Neomal Wickremasekera in the Most Popular Schoolboy Cricketer 2011 All-Island category, while C. Dilshan of Maris Stella College took the lead in the Most Popular Schoolboy Cricketer 2011 in the Outstation category at the end of count number 2 in the Observer/Mobitel Schoolboy Cricketer of The Year competition.

Bhanuka Rajapakse has already struck two centuries against the touring England Under 19 cricket Team and has stamped his class as a cricketer with a promising future. Another Royalist Ramith Rambukwella who is also in the Sri Lanka Under-19 Team to meet the touring Under-19 England cricketers, has moved one position up to be placed fifth.
