UL flies to new destinations soon

SriLankan Airlines has decided to re-commence scheduled flights to Australia from Next year. In addition, the airline would also fly to Guenshu (China) this week.

Minister of Aviation Priyankara Jayaratne said that it would be acquiring additional flights to launch this operation.

The flights to Australia were withdrawn after the LTTE destroyed some of the aircraft in attack at Colombo Airport.

He said that the SriLankan Airline's sea plane operation too would commence next month. Due to the controversy that was created in Negombo the airline will launch the operations from a new venue, he said.

He said that in addition the budget airline, Mihin Lanka is contemplating to fly to Singapore this year. This would be a stop over flight en-route to Jakarta.

The service is expected to be thrice weekly and would be offering the lowest air fare in the market.
