Under-19 Cricket:
England wins final One-dayer

The young England cricketers will have something to cheer about prior
to their homeward bound journey after winning the fifth and final one
day match by 7 wickets against the Sri Lanka Under-19 Team played at
Braybrooke Place yesterday.
Sri Lanka won the five match ODI series 3/1 with one game being
washed out.
The Sri Lankan lads playing without their regular skipper Bhanuka
Rajapaksa and a couple of regulars were made to fight hard for runs
amidst a steady England attack.
The Lankans winning the toss and electing to bat at one stage were 63
for 8 in 24.1 overs with medium pacer Lewis Gregory and Matt Dunn doing
the damage, sharing seven wickets.
A 56 run ninth wicket stand between Akila Jayasundera (34) and Angelo
Jayasinghe (53) took the young Lankans to their final total of 141 in
43.1 overs.
England Under-19 in their pursuit of a moderate 142 were helped by an
unbeaten 69 by Ben Foakes facing 107 deliveries with nine boundaries and
Ateeq Javed (49 n.o) with two fours and a six to seal the game in
England's favour.
