Speakers meet President

The Chairperson of the Commonwealth Parliamentary Association, Indian Lok Sabha Speaker Mira Kumar and Pakistan Speaker Dr. Fehmida Mirza paid a courtesy call on President Mahinda Rajapaksa at Temple Trees yesterday.

The inauguration session of the third Asian Region Conference of the Commonwealth Parliamentary Association (ARCCPA) was held at the Hilton Hotel last morning under the patronage of the Sri Lanka Prime Minister D.M. Jayaratna.

A large number of VIPs including Speakers, Ministers and Parliamentarians of countries in the Asian region including Bangladesh, Republic of Maldives, Pakistan and Sri Lanka attended the ARCCPA inaugural session.
