OBSERVER-MOBITEL AWARDS: Royal skipper Ramith Rambukwella received a tremendous boost prior to their 'Big' encounter around the corner against S. Thomas', shooting into the top spot at the end of count number 7 in the Observer/Mobitel Most Popular Schoolboy Cricketer All Island Contest 2011.

His closest rival Anandian spinner Sachitra Perera is just 272 votes behind him and in the weeks remaining it should be a stiff tussle for the top spot between Rambukwella, Anandian Sachitra Perera, Thomian Neomal Wickremasekera and even Royalist Bhanuka Rajapakse.Rambukwella leads with 23,817 votes with Sachitra Perera second with 23,545, Rajapakse third with 20,124 votes and Neomal Wickremasekera fourth with 19,906 votes.

In the Outstation Contest Royal Panadura's Dushan Vimukthi climbed to the number one position, polling 10,074 votes ousting Maris Stella's Chatura Dilshan who occupied the top spot last week. Vimukthi has a 48-vote each over Dilshan (10,074 votes) to 10,026 by Dilshan (10,026 votes).

Sanjika Ridma of St. Servatius' College, Matara is presently third with 9,872 votes, having dropped down one place.
