ICC World Cup memento for Hero Honda customers
The ICC World Cup is being co-hosted in Sri Lanka, India, and
Bangladesh up to April 2. The total of 49 matches with teams from 14
nations is one of the most-watched events in the world, with more than
700,000 spectators in host countries and two billion television viewers
in 110 countries.
Hero Honda is a global sponsor for the ICC World Cup this year and
will be offering valuable mementos such as branded caps with every
purchase of a Hero Honda motorcycle from any of their 300 dealers based
islandwide, up to the April 2.
The company is excited about the potential they have to strengthen
their brand in this important region through the sponsorship of ICC
matches and the ICC Cricket World Cup 2011.
Cricket has become a huge advertising market and being a global
partner of the World Cup is the highest level of sponsorship the
tournament offers.
Having promoted a number of sports events over the years, the company
is committed to the promotion of sport, in particular cricket.
They began their association with cricket in 1993 with the
sponsorship of the Hero Honda Cup, for the five-nation cricket
tournament and were also one of the sponsors for the ICC Cricket World
Cup 1999.
The company is also a sponsor of a number of players in the Indian
squad, who have been brand ambassadors of Hero Honda. Hero Honda is a
joint venture between India’s Hero Group and Honda Motor Company, Japan,
with Stafford Motors being the sole authorised distributor for the
motorcycles in Sri Lanka.
Stafford Motors were able to bring the World Cup for the first time
to the country this year and organised the ‘2011 ICC Trophy Tour’ where
they gave away match tickets through a selection process from a Quiz
where three people from each city was rewarded. The Parade covered more
than 14 suburban towns close to Colombo.
