CBL to open factory in SEPZ

Ceylon Biscuits Limited (CBL) will
open a manufacturing plant in the Seethawaka Export
Processing Zone (SEPZ) to cater to the increasing demand of
its export market. CBL will invest around Rs. 1.2 billion on
this new factory which is a BOI approved project. Here

Trillium East Wing to be completed by December
Trillium Residencies, the condominium project in Colombo, said that
only a few apartments are remaining for sale in it’s recently completed
Sunset West Wing.
Assistant General Manager (Sales and Marketing) Trillium, Tharanga
Thenuwara said, “There is an upward surge in the apartment market with a
high level of interest in our Sunset West Wing.
Industry experts forecast this positive trend to continue with the
end of the conflict and enhanced political stability in the country.
Trillium Residencies is a landmark achievement and we are proud that of
the 60 apartments at the Sunset West Wing, only eight apartments are
available.

condominium project, which is already home to many celebrities and
professionals the final wing of Trillium Residencies’ East Wing will be
completed by December.
Etisalat partners Tritel, enables 24/7 islandwide re-loading
Etisalat has partnered Tritel to enable the re-loading of an Etisalat
connection by inserting coins into a Tritel booth. This easy, accessible
and affordable service allows the customer to re-load his phone from
just about anywhere, at any time of day as Tritel has 1600 booths
islandwide.
The partnership is expected to benefit a large portion of the
pre-paid mobile subscriber base, thereby driving subscriber growth and
customer loyalty. Etisalat CEO Dumindra Ratnayaka said, "This
partnership will benefit the customer and the company as it ensures the
highest quality of customer service in providing 24/7 support and
access."
My Cola plans expansion
“The vision of My Cola is to achieve 10 percent market share by 2015.
We also have plans for expansion,” said Managing Director of My
Beverages Marketing (Pvt) Ltd Mahalingam Sarmaa.
He was addressing MBML’s awards ceremony held recently for its sales
force at the Waters Edge hotel.
The objective of the awards ceremony was to motivate and reward the
sales force and to recognise excellence.
MBML markets Cristal bottled drinking water and the My Cola range of
beverages to the Sri Lanka and Maldives markets.
Cristal bottled drinking water was introduced to the market in 1994
with the commissioning of a state of the art bottle manufacturing
facility in Kadawatha together with a filling line in Medamahanuwara in
Kandy.
MBML launched the My Cola range of beverages in 2004 competing
effectively with multi-national giants in Sri Lanka as well as the
Maldives.
My Cola beverages are manufactured solely in Sri Lanka. “We have
gained 6 percent market share in a highly competitive market in a very
short span of six years” said Head of National Sales, My Beverages
Marketing, Yohan De Silva.
“We are confident that we will grow our market share to a dominating
position over the years as our products are high quality premier
products” he said.
The company has 60 distributors islandwide, 300 employees and
provides employment indirectly to 600 people.
Piramal Glass accredited with ISO 22000:2005
Piramal Glass Ceylon PLC was accredited with ISO 22000:2005
certifications by BVQS India recently at the company’s factory at
Poruwadanda, Horana.
Manager BVQS Sri Lanka T K Ossan made the presentation. Vice
President - Operations, Pritam Bharti, General Manager - Operations
Udaya Hettige, Deputy General Manager - Production B. L. Reddy, Quality
Assurance Manager Nihal Katuwawala and the operations team represented
the company.
ISO 22000:2005 is an International Standard designed to ensure safe
food supply chains worldwide.
