Closure of A-15 road hits public

The people, Government officers, teachers and the officers attached to other institutions in Kinniya and surrounding areas have requested the relevant authorities to reopen the A-15 road via Kinniya to Muttur as early as possible.

They used this road to get to Muttur, everyday, according to the people of Kinniya. As the road was badly damaged due to the floods caused by the recent heavy rains the Road Development Authority temporarily closed this road.

As the road was not reopened the people who used this road frequently and the officers from this area are experiencing severe inconveniences to get to Muttur.

The vehicle transport to Muttur, Thoppur, Werukal, Kiliwetti, Eachchilampatru, Wakarai and Batticaloa areas took place via A-15 road before it was closed temporarily.

As this road has been closed the Government Officers travel to Muttur by Ships from Trincomalee spending a large amount of money and wasting their valuable time.
