Samaposha sponsors U-14 girls football tourney

FOOTBALL: The Under-14 International Girls Football Festival for
Central and South - East Asia is on. It started on March 10 and will go
on till March 14 at the Police Park, Colombo.
Plenty Foods (Pvt) Ltd a subsidiary of Ceylon Biscuits Ltd. are
sponshoring the event for the third time under its popular brand
Samaposha. Sri Lanka is hosting the game this year and youngsters from
Bhutan, Iran, Jordan, India and Palestine will display their football
prowess in a series of friendly matches and a coaching camp too, will be
conducted simultaneously to the matches.
Samaposha has a close link with football in Sri Lanka as they are the
sponsors of the under-13 annual football Tournament. Since the dawning
of peace, many countries have expressed their willingness to take part
in tournaments held in Sri Lanka.
Nandana Wickremage, Group Director and Head of Sales and Marketing
for Ceylon Biscuits addressing the media at the Football House
Auditorium in Reid Avenue, said "as a nation we should start reaping the
benefits of peace, be it in the political, business or sporting
frontiers.
While blending this national requirement with one of our prominent
brands, which stands for strength and vitality, which is Samaposha, we
have decided to sponsor this festival. We see a close relationship with
our brand and football as a game which demands and displays energy".
