Traveller Global Mercantile Soccer Sevens Champs

FOOTBALL: A solitary goal by M. Ismarali enabled Traveller Global team to beat Amana Takaful team by one goal to nil and win the Cup final of the 35th Mercantile Football Association seven-a-side soccer tournament on the Reid Avenue grounds.

The first semi-finals between Amana Takaful and Hidramani Industries ‘A’ ended in a one-all draw. Forward M. Shiyam scored for Amana Takaful while centre forward Nimal Fernando get the equaliser for Hidramani. The penalty shoot-out too ended in a one-all draw and the winner had to be decided on the toss of a coin.
