Senior Presidential Advisor on Agriculture

Former Minister of Agriculture Hemakumara Nanayakkara has been
appointed a Senior Advisor on Agriculture by President Mahinda Rajapaksa.
Nanayakkara who has a Post Graduate Degree in Agriculture from the
University
of California and a Doctorate on Agriculture from the Peradeniya
University has wide experience and practical knowledge on the subject of
agriculture.
Nanayakkara who is also the patron of the Aquinas School of
Agriculture Past Pupils' Association will be the Guest of Honour at the
walk organized by the Aquinas
University College on March 27 at 8.00 a.m.
A spokesman for the Aquinas School of Agriculture said that
Nanayakkara's appointment is a singular honour for the Association as he
has been a tower of strength to the Association and spearheaded many
agricultural projects.
Nanayakkara, a product of Aquinas University College conducts
lectures and seminars for students of the Association on a voluntary
basis.
