Derana Miss Sri Lanka for Miss World 2011

An adventure of beauty and elegance unfolded at Thotupala Resort on March 12 as the first Mini Pageant of Derana Miss Sri Lanka for Miss World 2011 was held to select the girl with the smoothest skin.

The stunning twelve finalists walked on a specially designed ramp to put up a spectacular show which was judged by Model and Dancer Chula Padmendra, Head of Supply for Veet from Reckitt & Benckizer Naween Senevirathna and Head of CG Hair Dressing Cheryl Gunaratne.

In contrast to the usual sets used for such pageants, the resort had a natural touch with a wide lake in its backdrop and wooden floors which challenged the girls wearing high heels.

However they were not willing to let such trivialities affect their ability to sweep the judges off their feet.

The twelve damsels set the ramp and many hearts on fire with their dazzling looks and trendy outfits.

Although coming from varied aptitudes and backgrounds, they feel they will learn much from the pageant comprising hectic schedules. They believe it is a good platform to boost their confidence levels and make a name in todays fashion industry.
