Interpol says WCup ‘terrorist’ arrested
WORLD CUP CRICKET: ISLAMABAD, March 26 (AFP) - A “terrorist”
suspected of planning to attack the cricket World Cup has been arrested
after help from authorities across South Asia including in Pakistan,
Interpol chief Ronald Noble said.
“Just last week, through the cooperation from Pakistan, Sri Lanka and
the Maldives, we were able to identify, locate and arrest a terrorist,
who had left Karachi on his way to the Maldives with criminal
intentions,” Noble said.
St. Mathew’s vs St. John’s today
CRICKET: The 40th cricket encounter between St. Mathew’s, Dematagoda
and St. John’s College, Dematagoda popularly known as the ‘Battle of
Dematagoda’ will be played today at Railway grounds, Mount Mary. St.
Mathew’s will be led by all-rounder Mohamed Safran and St. John’s will

HOCKEY: The All-Island boys and girls under-15 hockey tournament organised by the Sri Lanka Schools Hockey Association and the Matale
Schools Hockey Association will be played at Matale from April 2 to
5.The matches will be played at the Edward Park, Bernard Aluwihara
Stadium and the Nandimithra International Stadium which will be also the
venue of the two cup finals and the two consolation finals.

present boys team helped them to beat Old Rajans by 51 runs in their
Bandula Gunaratne Memorial Trophy cricket match of Dharmaraja College
played at Lake View, Kandy.
