Lyceum International Wattala under 13 cricket champs again

CRICKET:Lyceum International School, Wattala won the 10th Inter
International Schools under 13 cricket tournament when they beat Gateway
College by seven wickets at the Lyceum Wattala grounds.
Put into bat, Gateway made 145 in 40 overs. Helitha Bambaranda made
60 and Ashfaaq Mistha 18. In reply Lyceum International Wattala made 146
for 3 wickets in 29.4 overs. Sasanka Dilshan made 61 not out for Lyceum
Wattala. This was the third year in succession that Lyceum
International, Wattala won this tournament. Earlier they won in 2009 and
2010.
The special awards in the tournament: Best Batsman of the Tournament:
Duminda de Silva (Lyceum, Wattala), Best Bowler of the Tournament:
Pavith Janadh (Lyceum, Wattala), Best Player of the Final: Sasanka
Dilshan (Lyceum, Wattala), Best Player of the Series: Pavith Janadh
(Lyceum, Wattala) Best Fielder of the tournament: Ashfaaq Mistha
(Gateway College, Colombo). Former Sri Lanka cricketer Roger Wijesuriya
- the under 15 and under 17 Sri Lanka cricket coach was the chief guest
at the final.
Lyceum International School also emerged champions in a athletics for
the third consecutive year in the Inter International Schools Athletic
Championship (ISAC 2011) in February this year.
