Dharmaraja determined to level series against Kingswood
by S.M. Jiffrey ABDEEN - Kandy Sports Corr.
CRICKET: Dharmaraja College who won the 'big match' after a lapse of
30 years go out favourites when they take on Kingswood College in their
23rd limited over dash for the Winston Hoole Memorial Trophy to be
played at the Pallekele International Cricket Stadium today (Sunday
April 3) commencing at 9.45 a.m.
This match was started in 1989 and a trophy was awarded in memory of
Winston Hoole who was the livewire of sports activities at Kingswood
College for over 25 years before his retirement in the seventies.
Of the 22 matches played so far, Kingswoodians are in the lead with
10 win against 9 by the Rajans while three matches have been abandoned
due to rain.
With the Rajans fielding a better outfit they have a fine chance of
equalling the series. In a limited over match, the survival till the end
will not bring victory and Kingswood should endeavour to play positively
and make a match of it.
