Expolanka Freight Private Limited, one of Sri Lanka's largest freight
forwarders and a subsidiary of Expolanka Holdings PLC, opened a branch
in Hambantota recently.
The office facility comes in the wake of Expolanka Freight announcing
its partnership with SriLankan Airlines, taking on the role as their
Authorised Cargo Agent, to handle logistics and cargo services in
Hambantota.
Expolanka Freight Director/CEO, Jagath Pathirane said, "The
opening of an additional Expolanka Freight branch in the developing
district of Hambantota will tap the potential as the region is crucially
located between important ports, Sri Lanka's second international
airport (that is scheduled to open in 2012) and the commercial capital
of Colombo.
With Hambantota being developed as a vital entry point to Sri Lanka,
the demand for cargo and logistics solutions continues to rise,
providing a multitude of growth opportunities for Expolanka Freight and
its clientele."
