Dubai-based vessel at Ruhunu Magampura Port

The container feeder vessel MV OEL DUBAI

The container feeder vessel MV OEL DUBAI, with a capacity of 1,028 TEUs, entered the Ruhunu Magampura Mahinda Rajapaksa International Port recently as part of the program for the harbour pilots to familiarise themselves with the manoeuvring of vessels at the port.

The MV OEL Dubai, which is 51 metres long, is owned and operated by the Dubai-based feeder operator Orient Express Lines, a premier common carrier feeder operator serving the Port of Colombo.

Orient Express Lines has been serving the Colombo Port for over two decades and has services covering most of the Indian subcontinent among other areas.

The OEL Dubai shuttles between India and Colombo and calls every seven days with containers onboard to be transshipped in Colombo, to be loaded onto Main Line Vessels.

The vessel, with a heavy load, entered the Ruhunu Magampura Port smoothly without any difficulty, said Marvis Gomes of MV OEL Dubai.
