Sri Lanka No 2 at Aviva Customer Cup 2011

The Sri Lankan team emerged second in the competitive Aviva Customer Cup 2011 Grand Finals held in Gstaad, Switzerland last week. The captain of the team Dimuthu Piyasena was adjudged Captain of the Year and coach Kelum Senanayake was among the three nominated for the Best Coach award.

The Aviva Customer Cup is a global competition for employees and has proved its value with innovative ideas to improve service to customers, stimulate new approaches to teamwork and recognise ideas and dedication of employees across Aviva's businesses around the world. The winning presentation by the Sri Lankan team included a heart warming skit illustrated the product concept with impact in just 11 minutes. The team scored for getting the proposition of an innovative low-cost insurance solution for the low-income segment.

"I am proud of our team who called themselves 'The Link Between' and competed in a competitive arena to prove their calibre.

They were the only Asian team among the 28 countries in the global Aviva Group to qualify to participate in the Grand Finals in Switzerland," said Managing Director, Shah Rouf.
