Seminar on Malaysian timber industry

A business delegation comprising 10 leading companies engaged in timber from Malaysia is visiting Sri Lanka July 7 to 8 organised by the Malaysian Timber Council (MTC). These companies mainly represent the sectors of plywood, MDF, particleboard, laminated scantlings, mouldings, flooring, decking, door frames and window components.

The objectives of the visit are to enhance trade relations and increase timber trade with Sri Lanka, disseminate information on the Malaysian timber industry, timber species and applications, exchange ideas and information on timber utilisation, to enhance networking with key potential timber buyers and to seek joint venture opportunities.
