Entrepreneur of the Year awards launched
The Entrepreneur of the Year awards scheme of the Federation of
Chambers of Commerce and Industry of Sri Lanka (FCCISL) has inspired
many entrepreneurs and helped promote enterprises overseas, said former
president FCCISL, Patrick Amerasinghe.
He was addressing a ceremony to launch the 16th Entrepreneur of the
Year awards scheme of the FCCISL at the chamber on Wednesday. He said
that the contribution of small and medium sector entrepreneurs to the
economy should be recognised and rewarded.
The SME sector enpreprenurs are silent contributors to the growth of
the economy.
The FCCISL annual awards scheme recognises entrepreneurs who have
reached the pinnacle of success and contribute to the economy.Awards
will be presented to entrepreneurs of small, medium, large and extra
large categories.
Platinum award winner 2010 and Managing Director, Richard Trading Co.
Ltd., Richard Jayatissa said that the award helped him build confidence
and boost his business.
Awards will be presented to the Woman and the Young Entrepreneur of
the Year in recognition of their contribution to the economy and to
motivate them to develop their enterprises.
Vice President, FCCISL, Ajith Watthuhewa said that the chamber has
been successful in attracting all business sectors such as agriculture,
services, industries and trading encompassing all districts.
The awards ceremony will be held on November 23 at the Cinnamon Grand
Hotel.
