Titan to invest on brand building

Titan, the world's fifth largest watch brand plans to invest heavily on brand building in Sri Lanka.

General Manager and Head of International Titan Industries K.S. Ghai said that every three seconds someone somewhere buys a Titan watch. bans was appointed the authorised distributor of Titan watches last week in Colombo. Ghai said that they are present in over 27 countries have over 100 million customers and make the slimmest watch.

They will be innovative and dominate the market with a share of 65 percent. He said that they produce 13 million watches annually which are retailed from 7000 points worldwide. Ghai said that the range of Titan watches amounting to 1500 will be available through the network of Abans,authorised dealers as well as at the Sri Lanka Duty Free Shop very soon. Titan with a $ 1.4 b revenue employs over 350,000 worldwide and has forayed into eyewear and jewellery, presently sold only in India.

The parent company of Titan Industries is Tata Industries, a brand valued at $ 11.4 b
