Abans opens AC Academy

Abans recently opened an AC Academy under the supervision of its principals LG Electronics Inc. of Korea to provide an opportunity for youth to receive specialised practical training in modern air conditioning technology.

Selected personnel of Abans AC Division are undergoing an intensive 'Train the Trainer' program at LG Electronics, Korea to be the core training staff of the academy, assisted by qualified engineers and experienced AC technicians.

The Academy will offer short-term and advanced courses in Air Conditioning Technology, targeting school-leavers as well as technical and maintenance staff attached to hotels, banks, hospitals, telecommunication industries and large corporate sector establishments.

The courses will also benefit those involved in the construction industry.

Course contents will include VRF Technology; Principles of VRF and VRF cycle; Main components of VRF and their functions/features/USP's; Types of compressors, their functions, failures, repairs and maintenance; Types of condensers, their functions, failures, repairs and maintenance; Importance of refrigerants (R410a); Air Conditioner selection and calculating heat lords; Inverter Air Conditioners; Recommended installation methods and correct handling for better performance.
