ACs consume less electricity than rice cookers

LG Electronics with its innovative technology has been successful in reducing electricity consumption of its Low Watt Inverter Air Conditioners to 660 watts compared to at least 900 watts consumed by other air conditioners.

A rice cooker consumes 900, a bread toaster 850 and an electric iron 1650 watts. The energy efficiency ratio of LG’s low watt air conditioner is 14.5 BTU/h. Unlike in conventional air conditioners LG inverter technology controls the speed of the compressor to adjust cooling when indoor temperatures reach desired levels, enabling a saving of 60 percent or more on electricity usage.
