The Presenters of Mr & Miss Sri Lanka 2011 informed us that due to
unavoidable circumstances, the selection of Mr & Miss Western City which
was scheduled to be held yesterday (July 9) at the Ice Lounge, at Horton
Place, Colombo 7, had to be postponed for July 16 at the same venue.
This time there will be no mistaking, all the excitement and the
entertainment will make the evening memorable if you are a contestant or
a member of the audience.
The show to crown Mr & Miss Western City will commence at the Ice
Lounge at 9.30 pm. It will include performances by Russian Dances in
their colourful costumes for the audience to enjoy.
There will be surprises for the guests and dancing too. The first 50
couples who arrive in time will receive gifts at the door, courtesy Silk
and Satin. Tickets priced at Rs. 1,000 are available at the Ice Lounge.
Winners of the Mr & Miss Western City will have the opportunity to
contest in the Mr & Miss Sri Lanka 2011.
This would mean that the winners could compete for not only Miss
Earth, but also for the prestigious Miss Tourism International, Model of
the World, Asian Model Search and even Petite International if you fit
the bill.
Miss Earth has the important responsibility of recognising the urgent
need to spread environmental awareness and encourage people to take
action to mitigate the abuse of the natural resources. In the words of
Miss Vietnam 'Protect the environment. Water is life. Save the earth to
save our lives." Miss Venezuela says "Use eco design in building homes
to help save energy, while Miss USA is of the view that "Education is
the tool to better the Earth."
Mr & Miss Sri Lanka 2011 is presented in association with the Sunday
observer - the print media sponsor, the Sri Lanka Rupavahini
Corporation, Real Radio and the official film FUJI!
