Guide book on 'Kandy Perahera'

The guide book on the Kandy perahera 'Peraharaka Pelahara' (Splendour of a Pageant) is a novel reading experience for the viewers of this historic pageant. Many spectators do not have a correct awareness of the cultural aspects of this exposition of the grand religious and cultural event.

Publishing 'Peraharaka Pelahara' a guide book for this year's pageant of the Sacred Tooth Relic is a timely attempt by Diyawadana Nilame Pradeep Nilanga Dela on the advice of the Mahanayake Theras of Malwatte and Asgiriya Chapters.

So far the local and foreign viewers only witnessed the pageant but from this year they could self study the splendour of the pageant with the aid of this book which is a historical background of this Sacred Event. The book was compiled by editorial director Krishantha Hissella and Chief Editor, senior journalist Krishantha Dayananda and folklore researcher Mahinda Kumara Dalupotha. It has around 80 exclusive colour pictures and will serve as a travelogue as well.
