HNB joins Sampath Bank to extend nation's largest ATM network

Sampath Bank and Hatton National Bank, (HNB)have joined to give customers the opportunity to withdraw from over 1400 ATMs throughout the island. HNB became the latest bank to join the Sampath Bank powered inter-bank ATM network when the two banks signed an agreement recently.

The islandwide ATM network by Sampath Bank will now include all 365 HNB ATMs along with those of BoC, Union Bank, DFCC Vardhana, Pan Asia Bank, NSB, HDFC and NDB Bank. HNB customers will benefit from this venture as they will have access to bank accounts 24 hours a day, in all parts of the country, making transactions ever more convenient.

Sampath Bank introduced the concept of ATMs to Sri Lanka in 1987, revolutionising the country's banking industry. Subsequently, Sampath Bank was responsible for pioneering the ATM Network Sharing concept, substantiating a huge saving for customers in the form of fees paid to foreign financial institutions for ATM usage. Customers of banks within the network can withdraw money from all partner ATMs at a low service charge.
