Jobs for 9,000 Lankan youth in S. Korea
Nine thousand Sri Lankan youth will find direct employment in South
Korea under the 2011 Korean employment program, said a spokesman for the
Sri Lanka Bureau of Foreign Employment (SLBFE).
Over 50,930 applications for Korean jobs were issued by the Bureau
recently under the program.
Applicants will have to sit a Korean Language proficiency test from
October 8-9 at 28 centres countrywide.
SLBFE Chairman Kingsley Ranawake told the Sunday Observer that 9,000
applicants will be selected and their names will be in the Bureau
website to enable the Korean employers to select suitable persons.
He said the salaries range from Rs. 100,000 to Rs. 125,000 with other
perks. Those selected will leave for Korea in batches from February next
